These Usage Guidelines outline the standards expected when using Kitsuly, its commerce tools, integrations, communication systems and customer-facing features. They are intended to help protect merchants, customers and the broader Kitsuly platform while allowing users plenty of flexibility in how they operate their stores.

Kitsuly should be used in a lawful, responsible and transparent way. Store owners remain responsible for the products, services, content, communications and business practices they operate through the platform.

Build freely. Operate responsibly.

Kitsuly gives you the tools. You remain in control of how they are used. Create your storefront. Manage customers. Run campaigns. Process orders. Build services. Automate workflows. Grow your business. Use those tools responsibly, respect your customers, follow applicable laws and do not use Kitsuly in ways that harm people, systems or the integrity of the platform.

Acceptable use

Kitsuly may be used to create and operate legitimate online businesses, ecommerce stores, service businesses, booking systems, subscription offerings, digital storefronts and other supported commercial experiences.

Users are encouraged to customise their Kitsuly installation, create original storefront experiences, integrate supported third-party services and use Kitsuly's marketing, analytics, customer, catalogue, booking and commerce tools to support their business.

When using Kitsuly, businesses should provide clear and accurate information about the products or services they offer, pricing, shipping, subscriptions, returns, refunds and any other terms that may materially affect a customer.

Customer information should only be collected where appropriate and should be handled in accordance with applicable privacy, marketing and data-protection requirements.

Marketing communications should be sent only to appropriate recipients and mailing-list subscriptions, consent preferences and unsubscribe requests should be respected.

Kitsuly should be used in a way that supports genuine commerce and a fair customer experience.

Platform responsibilities

Kitsuly provides the software, tools and functionality used to create and operate a commerce environment. Individual Kitsuly users remain responsible for the businesses they operate through that environment.

This includes responsibility for the accuracy of store information, product listings, pricing, stock availability, taxes, shipping settings, customer communications, promotional material and fulfilment of orders or services.

Users are also responsible for configuring their own integrations and third-party services correctly. This may include payment providers, shipping services, analytics platforms, email services, APIs and other connected systems.

Kitsuly may provide tools to assist with areas such as tax calculations, reporting, invoicing, marketing, accessibility, privacy and store management; however, these tools do not replace professional legal, accounting, taxation or regulatory advice where such advice is required.

Store owners should maintain appropriate access controls, protect their WordPress installation and credentials, keep software reasonably current and take appropriate steps to safeguard customer and business information.

Restricted activity

Kitsuly must not be used to conduct unlawful activity, deliberately mislead customers, distribute malicious content or interfere with the operation of other websites, systems or users.

Restricted activity includes using Kitsuly to knowingly facilitate fraud, deceptive transactions, unauthorised access, malware distribution, phishing, spam or other abusive behaviour.

Users must not attempt to bypass security controls, interfere with Kitsuly licensing or transaction systems, manipulate platform fees, falsify transaction information or deliberately exploit vulnerabilities in Kitsuly or connected services.

The platform should not be used to send bulk unsolicited communications or repeatedly contact individuals who have opted out of a mailing list or otherwise withdrawn permission to receive marketing communications.

Users must not knowingly upload or distribute content that infringes the intellectual property rights of another person or organisation.

Kitsuly may restrict access to particular functionality where activity creates a security risk, threatens platform integrity or is reasonably believed to involve serious misuse.

Reporting concerns

If you become aware of suspected misuse of Kitsuly, a security issue, abusive activity or conduct that may place customers or other users at risk, we encourage you to report it.

Please provide as much useful information as possible, including the website or store involved, a description of the concern, relevant screenshots and any other information that may assist with reviewing the matter.

Reports can be submitted through the Kitsuly Support system. Where the issue involves an immediate technical or security concern, select the appropriate urgent-support option so it can be identified quickly.

Reports will be reviewed based on the information available. Where appropriate, Kitsuly may request further information, investigate technical activity, contact the relevant store operator or take steps necessary to protect the platform and its users.

Good-faith reports are welcomed. The aim is to keep Kitsuly flexible and open for legitimate businesses while maintaining sensible standards around security, customer protection and responsible platform use.
