Kitsuly was created with one clear goal: to make running an online business simpler, smarter and more powerful. We believe business owners should be able to focus on their products, customers and growth — not spend their time trying to connect dozens of plugins, services and complicated systems just to keep their store running.

That’s why Kitsuly is being built as an all-in-one commerce platform for WordPress. From products, payments and orders through to bookings, shipping, customer management, reporting, marketing, subscriptions, accounting and storefront design, Kitsuly brings the tools businesses need together in one connected system.

Traditional eCommerce setups can become complicated very quickly. A store may require one plugin for payments, another for shipping, another for bookings, another for subscriptions, another for analytics and several more just to make everything work the way the business actually needs. Kitsuly takes a different approach. We are building the platform around the idea that these systems should already work together.

We're Only Getting Started

As young as Kitsuly is, what exists today is only the beginning. At the time of writing, Kitsuly is sitting at Version 2.0.1 — and our development goals already extend far beyond where the platform currently stands. The achievement now is not simply to maintain what already works. It is to continue building, integrating and significantly expanding the working components of Kitsuly while exploring new ways to make building and managing an online store fun, interactive and genuinely powerful.

Our development roadmap is ambitious because we believe commerce software should continue evolving alongside the businesses that depend on it. We are always looking for feedback, suggestions and new ideas. If there is something Kitsuly could do better, something you wish it could do, or an entirely new capability you think belongs inside the platform, we want to hear about it.

Some of the best development ideas begin with a simple question: "Why can't it do this?" Our job is to keep answering that question.

Kitsuly is designed to deliver powerful functionality without making the experience unnecessarily technical. Our focus is on creating clean interfaces, visual controls, straightforward workflows and tools that make sense from the moment you start using them. Whether you're launching your first online store, managing an established retail business, selling digital products, accepting bookings or building a growing online brand, Kitsuly is designed to adapt to the way you operate. You shouldn't need to become a developer just to manage your website.

Pushing Beyond What Works

One of the things we have noticed across established platforms is that development can eventually settle around what already works, rather than continuing to explore what could work better. Many modern updates increasingly focus on interface changes, AI features or functionality supplied through external add-ons. There is absolutely a place for all of those things. Kitsuly uses integrations where they provide genuine value, and we are not opposed to third-party plugins or external development. But we also believe there is enormous value in continuing to improve the core platform itself. Every additional dependency can introduce another layer of compatibility, performance, maintenance and security considerations. When important functionality can become a properly engineered part of Kitsuly itself, we believe that is often the better long-term experience for the people actually running their businesses on it. Our goal is therefore not to build a platform that relies on an ever-growing collection of extensions simply to become complete. The goal is to keep making Kitsuly itself more capable.

Developers in Kitsuly's Future

We definitely aren't shutting developers out. Quite the opposite.

As the Kitsuly ecosystem grows, we intend to review plugins, integrations and ideas created specifically for Kitsuly by independent developers.When we discover something that provides significant value to the broader Kitsuly community, we want the opportunity to work directly with its creator.

Where appropriate, that may mean collaboratively redeveloping the functionality so it can become a properly integrated part of Kitsuly itself. And if a developer helps create something valuable enough to become part of Kitsuly's core platform, we believe they should receive more than just bragging rights.

We want to build meaningful incentives and opportunities for the people who help make the Kitsuly ecosystem better. Because a strong platform shouldn't just create opportunities for businesses using it. It should create opportunities for people building around it as well.

Kitsuly isn't being created simply to replicate traditional eCommerce platforms. We're building beyond them. Our vision is to create a complete business platform where commerce, design, operations, analytics, automation and intelligent assistance all work together.

That includes everything from advanced storefront building and product management to invoicing, tax tools, shipping integrations, promotions, subscriptions, bookings and Kit — the Kitsuly Assistant. As Kitsuly grows, so will the tools available to the businesses using it.

Progress V2.0.1 - SEP 2026

Kitsuly development is continuing at a rapid pace, with the latest builds focused heavily on strengthening the Visual Builder and expanding the depth of the platform as a whole. We’ve recently completed a major sweep across the builder component library, improving responsive behaviour, adding deeper design controls, expanding interactive functionality, and upgrading a number of elements that were previously too basic. Areas such as forms, galleries, banners, social elements, image effects, carousels, product components and responsive layouts are all receiving significantly more flexibility and customisation. We’re also continuing to refine how Kitsuly behaves across Desktop, Tablet and Mobile, with the goal of making responsive design feel more automatic and requiring only minor adjustments from the user. The focus remains on building as much useful functionality directly into Kitsuly as possible — creating a platform that is powerful, highly customisable and enjoyable to build with without relying on endless external add-ons. There is still a huge amount on the roadmap, and we are very much still in the early stages of what Kitsuly is intended to become. More control. More functionality. More built into the core. And a lot more still to come.
